Hello again!

Hello Again , lets get to know each other better. I'm Donna Hubbard aka Mother Hubbard. I'm a single parent with a somewhat troubled teenage daughter. I'm talking major drama queen. I decided to start a blog because I believe that with my experience can help others. In the coming weeks I will be sharing the story of a very troubled teen that my daughter and I have come to know and love. We will also be talking about my troubled daughter and her other troubled young friends. We will be discussing topics like teen pregnancies, drug abuse, school, trying to find a job, summer vacations, and what ever else happens to pop up in our lives. So I hope you will join us! Ta ta for now.

Hello Again to all my young friends.

I was talking to my teenage daughter about what I should write about in my blog. She told me most teenagers are interested in sex, drugs, music, and friends. I said what a coincidence that's the same thing teenagers were interested in when I was a teenager. Go figure. I love how you teenagers think you invented this risky behavior. I'm sure if you took the time to talk to your parents they;d have some stories to tell. As for myself, I didn't engage in these behaviors. I was a book worm and a free lance writer wannabe. However my 5 brothers made up for it. I remember this particular moment as if it happened yesterday. I was in my room working on a school paper during spring break. My mom, that would be old mother Hubbard, was doing her daily house cleaning. My mom is a neat freak. My family lives in a New England cape style house. Two bedrooms upstairs, two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room down stairs. One bathroom is hard for eight people to share. Anyway, my mom was across the hall from me cleaning my brothers room. I heard her having a fit about something then walking down stairs and throw something in the wood stove. A few minute later I could smell the scent of weed drifting upstairs into my bedroom. I ran downstairs and asked her what she had thrown in the wood stove. She told me she had found a pringles can underneath one of my brothers bed and it was full of weed so she threw it in the woodstove. I guess she wanted to get the whole nieghborhood high. I told her that wasn't the proper way to get rid of illegal substances. My mother is constantly looking in my brothers room for drugs claiming she was just cleaning their rooms. Eventually they hid there drugs in a different place. How often does you mom clean your room, (looking for drugs)?

Introduction to Mother Hubbards Facts of Life

Hello to everyone out there in cyberspace. I'm Mother Hubbard and I'm here to bring you the facts of life as I know them. Why you ask? It has come to my attention that there are a lot of young people that don't know the facts of life. You are all just so busy on myspace and facebook looking for I don't know what, to be worrying about the facts of life. I feel it is my duty as Mother Hubbard to share with you my experiences and what I have learned about life. Please feel free to ask questions, no question is off limits. I hope we can talk about all the issues that are troubling you young folk. In the mean time, let me share with you fact of life number 1: life is an amazing journey, the ultimate road trip. Oh how I love a road trip! How many of you out there have been on a road trip. My last road trip was with my daughter to College Park, Maryland for a school competition. We live in a small town here in Vermont. I had no clue how to get there. I went to AAA auto club and got a tripik road map on how to get there. We start out on our road trip to College Park. The weather was rainy and foggy. We made poor time. We got into lower P.A. outside of York and the traffic was bumper to bumper. So, I decided to find an alternative route. To make a long story short I got us lost. After asking for some more directions, we finally made it to our destination at 1 o'clock in the morning. Even though we got lost I really enjoyed the trip. I never learned so much or saw so many different things in my life. Like those annoying little cicada bugs that scared the crap out of my daughter. It was all worth the trip.
